Are the chickens frozen?

Accepted Answer

No, you will be picking up your whole roasting chickens the same day that we process them on the farm. They will come in shrink wrapped freezer ready bags so you can put them right in the freezer, or keep them in the fridge to cook.

Do I have to order 10 at once?

Accepted Answer

To be in this program you must order a minimum of 10 for the year unless we specify otherwise. You may break up those 10  or more over multiple pickup dates, but you have to take a minimum of 5 when you come pick up.

Do you offer payment plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes we do offer payment plans and would love to work with you so you are able to have access to our fresh pasture raised poultry. Please just message us privately via email, our website, or Facebook to inquire about a plan that will work for you before checking out.

Our most common payment plan is 50% down now and the remaining on each pick-up date. For example: say you want to order 30 chickens for the year and space them out for 5 each month (6 months). You would pay $255 upfront/ the cost of half the total and $42.50 each month that you come to pick up your chickens (The remaining cost for those 5 birds).

What happens if I cant come on the day of pick-up?

We understand that life happens and plans sometimes change. If you are unable to make it for the scheduled pick up day we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice to avoid a restocking fee of $3 per bird, and so we can arrange another time for you to come get your chickens. We also highly encourage you to arrange for someone else to pick up your chickens in your place if you are able.

What if I forget to pick up my chickens?

If you do not give us a 48 hour notice that you will be unable to make it for the scheduled pick up date you will be charged an additional $3 per bird and you will have to come pick them up during our regular open hours which are weekends Saturday and Sunday 10am-4-pm.

Question 6

What are the chickens fed?

Accepted Answer

These meat chickens are pasture raised on grass land located 1.5 miles up the road from our farm. They are moved daily to ensure clean space to roam and fresh bugs to eat. They are also fed a conventional broiler blend of grain which we source from a local grain yard in Scotland CT which is grown, milled and roasted fresh on site. The feed does consist of soy beans and corn, among a bunch of other minerals and nutrients as shown in the photo below.

Question 7

I want to join this program but I don't want to order more than the minimum until I go through them all. Do I have to order a minimum of 10 more when I sign up again?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not have to order a minimum of 10 more if you decide to join the program again at a later time during the same calendar year. You do however have to pick-up a minimum of 5, therefore you would have to order a minimum of 5.

It's also worth noting that we only reserve a certain amount towards this program, so we cannot guarantee that we will have availability during a later date. If you would like to reserve for a later date but do not want to pay for them all upfront, please see our section about payment plans and decide if that option is a good fit for you.
